Areas We Cover
Areas We Cover — Faux Stone & Artisan Stone Effects Nationwide Across the UK
Primordial Stone are based in Portsmouth, Hampshire — but our work has no boundaries.
We deliver hand-sculpted faux stone feature walls, exterior cladding, fireplace transformations, garden rockeries, water features, commercial stone environments, and faux timber beam installations to residential and commercial clients across the whole of the United Kingdom. From the tip of Cornwall to the Scottish Highlands, if you have a vision for a stone environment, we have the skills and the willingness to travel to make it real.
Our founding team brings over 30 years of combined building trade experience to every project — and that experience travels with us. We are not limited to local work. We are a nationwide specialist stone effects contractor that happens to be based on the South Coast.
Hampshire & the South Coast — Our Home Territory
Portsmouth and the surrounding South Coast is where Primordial Stone was built, and it remains the heartland of our operation. We know this region intimately — the property types, the planning contexts, the materials, and the clients.
Portsmouth
Our home city. We work across Portsmouth on residential and commercial stone projects of all scales — from terraced house interior feature walls in Southsea to commercial fit-outs in the city centre and exterior cladding on waterfront properties. If you're in Portsmouth and want a stone feature, we can be with you faster than anyone.
Southampton
Southampton is one of our most active areas outside Portsmouth — a thriving city with a strong mix of residential renovation, commercial hospitality, and new build development work. We work regularly in Southampton on restaurant and bar stone interiors, residential feature walls, and property development stone packages.
Fareham, Gosport & Havant
The towns surrounding Portsmouth form a dense belt of residential work — period properties, modern estates, self-builds, and extensions all generating strong demand for stone feature walls, chimney breast transformations, and exterior cladding. We're on home turf here and treat these jobs with the same priority as Portsmouth itself.
Chichester & West Sussex
Chichester and the West Sussex countryside — affluent, rural, full of period properties and barn conversions that respond brilliantly to stone and timber treatments. We work regularly across Chichester, Arundel, Midhurst, Petworth, and the surrounding villages on high-quality residential and hospitality stone projects.
Winchester & Test Valley
Winchester is one of the most desirable addresses in Hampshire — and one of the most active markets for premium interior stone features. We work across Winchester city and the Test Valley on residential chimney breasts, interior feature walls, and exterior stone cladding for period and new build properties.
Bournemouth, Poole & Dorset
The Dorset coast offers a strong market for coastal-influenced stone effects — granite textures, flint effects, and natural boulder finishes that complement the regional landscape. We work across Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch, Dorchester, and throughout Dorset on both residential and commercial hospitality projects.
Isle of Wight
We travel to the Isle of Wight for the right project — particularly commercial and hospitality work and larger residential stone feature packages. Travel by ferry is factored into our quotations transparently.
Brighton, Eastbourne & East Sussex
Brighton's bold, design-led hospitality and residential markets are a natural fit for Primordial Stone's more dramatic stone styles. We work across Brighton, Hove, Eastbourne, Lewes, and East Sussex regularly — particularly on commercial bar and restaurant interiors and contemporary residential feature walls.
London & the South East
London generates some of the most ambitious and highest-value stone feature projects in the UK — and we work across the capital and the wider South East consistently.

Coventry's regeneration, Warwickshire's affluent rural market, and Leicestershire's mix of city and countryside create strong and varied stone feature demand. We cover the full region — Coventry, Warwick, Stratford-upon-Avon, Leicester, Loughborough, and throughout.
Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire
Nottingham's hospitality scene and Derbyshire's Peak District property market are both strong generators of stone feature work — dark volcanic and moorland stone styles are particularly popular here. We cover Nottingham, Derby, the Peak District, and the surrounding region.
Staffordshire, Shropshire & the West Midlands
Rural Staffordshire and Shropshire are home to barn conversions and rural properties that respond beautifully to stone and timber treatments. We work across the full West Midlands region including Stoke-on-Trent, Stafford, Shrewsbury, Telford, and Wolverhampton.
The North of England
Northern England is one of our fastest-growing markets — a region with a rich stone building tradition, a thriving hospitality sector, and a residential market with genuine appetite for premium stone features.
Manchester & Greater Manchester
Manchester's world-class restaurant and bar scene makes it one of the most active commercial stone feature markets in the UK outside London. We work across Manchester, Salford, Stockport, Bolton, and the wider Greater Manchester area on commercial hospitality interiors and residential feature projects in areas like Didsbury, Chorlton, Altrincham, and the Northern Quarter.

Sheffield & South Yorkshire
Sheffield's industrial heritage and dramatic Peak District backdrop make darker, more rugged stone styles particularly resonant here. We work across Sheffield, Barnsley, Doncaster, and Rotherham on residential feature walls, commercial interiors, and exterior stone cladding.

Lancashire, Cumbria & the Lake District
The Lake District's tourism and hospitality economy generates exceptional demand for stone environments — hotels, holiday cottages, glamping venues, and outdoor leisure operators all want the rugged, natural stone language of the landscape. We work across Lancashire, Cumbria, the Lake District, Carlisle, and Preston.
